and design a custom library that meets your needs.

Using the latest in high definition digital audio technologies we can design a library for a specific project, scene or special event. We can create and deliver just about any sound element you desire. From mountain cave-ins to ferocious thunderstorms, you'll be treated to audio bliss.
The Recordist will venture out into the wild and digitally capture stereo high definition sound effects that suit you project. Then, every sound is cataloged, auditioned and then entered into Soundminer. Next, capturing, editing and processing is done in Pro-Tools HD2 with some of the coolest TDM plug-ins. This provides precise and artistic output for inclusion in your project.
Along with custom sound effects recording and editing, we have the latest and greatest CD libraries at hand to further enhance your requested material. Sometimes, library sounds can perfectly augment your sound effects that are required. We have no problem including library sound effects in our designs.

What makes The Recordist unique? All of the custom sounds we provide have been recorded by us at our studio or in the field. This means that they are guaranteed to be liability free. Secondly, our library is massive, encompassing many categories of sound effects. The Recordist has been in the sound design business since 1989 and we continue to produce the newest sounds available. This gives you many options from which to choose.
Being sound effects users and creators ourselves, we understand that the sounds you need for your project may not be available within the many commercial CD libraries on the market. You may only need one or two CD's filled with those hard to find sound effects your project requires.
The Recordist now gives you the ability to design your own custom sound effects CDs. Tell us what type of project you are working on or what your current needs are. We will provide you with a vast list of sound effects. The Recordist has over 140,000 sound effects to choose from.
By using time tested techniques, we can deliver sample sizes, bit rates and formats that meet your requirements. And since we have the source data, The Recordist can configure that data any way necessary: stereo, mono, sample-rate converted, 16 bit, 24 bit, etc. Finally, since we use our own recording equipment and digital workstations, we can guarantee the expediency of any timely project. And if The Recordist does not have it, we can surely go out in the field and aquire your sound effects.
