Product Description
After 5 long years and dozens of field recording sessions, GUNFIRE HD Professional Sound Effects Library is finally here! GUNFIRE is a massive, one of a kind gun sound collection that will knock your socks off. It’s the gun sound library you’ve always wanted: Distant shots! From 25 meters to a mile, these sounds are organized by caliber and location.
Tha actual gun models were not that important in the making of this library. I was mainly going after the caliber size and how it interacted with the environment. There are a wide assortment of calibers from 9mm to .50 BMG. Single and fully automatic shots are included. There also are random bursts from both semi-auto and full-auto weapons.
The library is organized by location folders so when you sort or search by path-name you can have them sort by location, makes life easy! The folders are as follows:
Farm Buildings Hills – Farmyard Field – Forest Clearing Hillside – Forest Mountains – Mountain Canyon – Ranch Field Canyon Echo Tails – Ranch Field Open Far Mountains – Rock Quarry – Rural Forest Dense – Rural Supersonic Crack
This is not your standard, run of the mill multi-microphone library although there are some calibers recorded in that fashion. Most of the library is recorded with a single point stereo microphone with some locations having multiple stereo microphones set up. During the 5 year production cycle the very distant sounds were obtained by leaving a microphone or portable handheld recorder such as the D-100 in the back yard for hours on end. As usual around here, someone down the road eventually made some noise. These rural forest recordings can have gun echoes from up to a mile away and with some fairly large calibers. Other long distance gun sounds are from my favorite ranch which allows me to record from 400 meters away, from the front, side and the rear of the gun.
If you need to sonically create a gun fight scene that has gunshots from hundreds of meters away, just grab some of the distant dry or wet gunshots, adjust the level in your mix to taste and you are good to go! Use them stand alone or layered with your favorite close up gun sounds and hear the difference some Idaho echo can make.
PS: All the guns were recorded using real, live ammunition. No blanks here. Live ammunition shots excite the environment in very unique ways that blank ammunition just can’t. From deep, heavy muzzle blasts to ripping supersonic air movement, it’s in here.
