Product Description
The Recordist presents a totally kick-ass set of sound effects from the SG-43 Goryunov Machine Gun. Recorded on a 400 acre ranch in North Idaho with a huge array of microphones and handheld recorders.
Perspectives include: attached, very close, medium and distant. From just a few inches out to 150 meters, this collection offers a wide range of source material. 10 mono and 7 stereo microphones time aligned and level matched provide a “ready to go” set of 24-bit 96k WAV files with detailed Soundminer Pro metadata from this Czechoslovak 7.92×57mm Mauser belt fed weapon. Single and burst variations are included along with mechanical action “foley” sounds. Special close-up designed microphone combinations are also included. The weapon recorded is authentic, not a replica.
The SG-43 Goryunov is a Soviet medium machine gun that was introduced during the Second World War. It was chambered for the 7.62×54mmR cartridge, and was introduced in 1943 as a replacement for the older M1910 Maxim machine guns. It was mounted on wheeled mounts, tripods and armored vehicles. In addition to World War II, SG-43 saw service in the Korean War with the Communist North Korean and Chinese forces.
