TIRES Episode Three is the third in a series of sound effects collections that focus only on the sound a tire makes when rolling, skidding, starting, skidding and stopping. Surfaces include: Snow (wet & Dry), Ice, Gravel and Pavement. Vehicles include a large SUV and a 4-door sedan. Recorded with the engine running and at idle.
You can use the sounds stand alone but they were ideally meant to be used as layers to other vehicle sounds. The gaol is to enhance any other vehicle sound you use to get the sound just right. The microphones were strategically placed close to the wheels to minimize any engine or muffler noise. Engine and tail-pipe noise can be creatively reduced with equalization or multi-band compression. The files were left as originally recorded during the mastering process.
Two microphones were used, one on each rear tire. The files are delivered as mono sound files but may be easily converted to stereo as heard in the audio demo below.
