Product Description
Presenting Undercover Guns HD Professional Sound Effects Library. A one of a kind collection of guns being fired in a large barn, small barn, large garage, medium garage, metal workshop, old decaying farmhouse, daylight basement and large household rooms. The rifles and handguns were fired inside and outside with microphones inside and outside the buildings. Live and blank ammunition was used and multiple distances were captured.
Unique locations include a 6000 square foot barn, a very old decaying farmhouse with no windows and a 1600 square foot metal shop building. A medium sized 800 square foot garage proved especially useful for recording a medium space with a tight decay. The guns were shot inside and outside the locations with the microphones left in place. Another unique location was a 1200 square foot empty garage and the shots were outside the closed building producing a very nice long reverb tail. If you ever needed gun sound effects that sound “outside the building”, now you have some. Stage 3 includes shots from outside automobiles, garage sheds (with microphones inside) along with shots inside a concrete hay silo and metal cargo container.
The same goes for a residential home location that was recorded. The shots were just outside the front door with microphones placed inside the main room, daylight basement and small bedroom. The doors were open for some shots, closed for others.
The “foley” portion includes the mechanical sounds of the gun captured during the shooting sessions and mechanical sounds recorded specifically for additional layers that can be added to the shot sounds as needed. These “action layers” have a room sound that can spice up any of the other shot sounds. As a special bonus there are guns recorded with a DPA-4062 miniature omnidirectional lavalier microphone attached while using a suppressor.
This collection was recorded over a three year period with many different microphone setups. Depending on the amount of time available at the location and the weather sometimes the guns were recorded with just one microphone and other times were multi-microphone setups. On several occasions I had less than an hour to setup and record because of the location and scheduling concerns.
Single and burst shots were recorded at most of the locations. The (Semi-Auto) burst shots allow you to edit the firing rate to match whatever scene or action you are working on. Close, medium and distant perspectives are included.
This library contains the original source recordings and processed/designed sounds. The source recordings were left at there original pitch and only EQ, fades, level adjustments and minimal noise reduction was applied. Feel free to layer, pitch, process with your go-to plugins for gun sound design. TIP: Pitch the handguns down between 10 & 15 percent and the rifles between 5 & 10 percent to fatten them up, add your favorite flavor of processing and go!
Special Notice:

Frank Bry has done it again. He’s managed to capture the energy and attitude of something that is extremely hard to do: INTERIOR FIREARMS! These sounds offer a multitude of character which allow you to carefully craft your scene depending on the perspective, story, and tone. Frank has done a beautiful job with both the recording and the post processing to give these gun shots lots of power whilst retaining a meaningful dynamic range. He’s also taken a load of work off your shoulders by providing comps of various mic perspectives to give you more drag and drop options for when you work in TV (me) and don’t have time to cut all layers each time.
Astounding work Frank!!
