Motion Motors 1 HD Pro:
For over 7 years I have been casually recording all kinds of moving vehicles and motors. Most of these sound effects were captured without any session planning or any idea of what I was going to get. I would setup whatever microphone or hand-held recorder was closest at the time and just let it run. Sometimes I would hear a construction vehicle or truck approaching and quickly grab a piece of gear and try and record it as it was passing by. Most of the time I ended up with something but sometimes just air. Whenever I heard a motor near the yard or out in the forest I would attempt to record it. Sometimes I would get up close and personal and other times I would let the recording device run for hours while I did something else back at the house. It was always hit and miss and what you get in this collection are the hits.
The pass by’s in this collection cover a broad range of motors. From smooth high speed passes to slow sputtering drive by’s this one of a kind set of sounds has them and everything in between. Long background ambiences of rural paved and dirt roadways are also included for those scenes where some “background traffic” is required.
Crazy doppler pass by effects can be created by pitching the sounds up or down and adding your favorite spicey plug-in process. Have fun and remember: never put your microphone directly in front of a moving vehicle (No, I did NOT do that, just some friendly advice).

Motion Motors 2 HD Pro:
Soon after the first Motion Motors sound effects library was released in 2015 I began recording vehicles on my dirt road. I spent 9 years setting up high end digital recorders and microphones on the side of the road at various distances. This road was always in a variable state of transition. When it was graded it was smooth and gritty. After months of traffic it would fall apart and the surface would develop rough spots with massive pot holes and ribs from speeding vehicles. Because of these rough spots, the vehicles would make nasty suspension bumps along with metal trailer rattles, shakes and impacts.
You can use the sounds stand alone or as layers to add depth and character to your designs. From subtle gritty pass bys to loud and aggressive motor revs and engine strains. A wide variety of distances from 5 feet out to 250 feet are included. Multiple microphone patterns were utilized to give you a broad selection of stereo widths to choose from.
During the summer of 2025 my road was rebuilt for paving and a wide variety of heavy machinery were recorded. Excavators (squeaky treads), boring machines, loaders and dump trucks aggressively working on the road is a highlight of this collection which I’m sure you can put to good use. Some really crazy stuff!
Designing SCI-FI spaceship effects? This collection provides many sounds that can be manipulated to give you that extra special element you need. Uniques motion pass by effects can be created by pitching, reversing and processing with your favorite plug-ins. The lush forest reverb on the distant sounds really benefit from manipulating pitch and time.
