Description
I decided to release this collection in two stages and Stage 2 of Suppressed Weapons is now available! Stage Two includes suppressors introduced to the market in the last year along with the Gemtech Blackside 40 which was also used in Stage 1. These amazing “cans” as the gun folk call them, include the latest sound suppression technologies and advanced manufacturing processes known to man.
Recording the sounds for Stage Two was really an amazing experience. I performed many of the shots myself and also had a experienced armorer handle some of the load. Suppressors used were a Gemtech GM-9 and GM-45. The GM-9 was also used with subsonic ammunition on my 300 Blackout rifle. The latest addition also includes lots of “mech” sounds produced while using subsonic ammo. Distant “beefy” muzzle shots and bullet pass by tracks are also in here.
Producing this library has been a labor of love for me and I have had to re-think my recording techniques while recording these guns. Because of the lower SPL of the guns and the functional aspects of using subsonic ammunition I strived to acquire the cleanest and most unique sounds I could without Losing my mind. Some of these suppressors were so quiet that there was virtually no “report” from the gun shot. The mechanical noise from the gun and the bullet leaving the barrel is very apparent in most of the tracks. This makes for some fantastic “Gun Mech” style sounds that I hope you will find useful alone or combined with other gun sounds.
As with most of the gun sound effects collections available from The Recordist you get the source, processed and specially designed versions of all the suppressors. Also included are many photos and the trailer video for your enjoyment.
