resenting Helicopters 1 HD Professional Sound Effects Library. The helicopter sound effects in this collection were recorded at the local county airport and from random fly-bys over Idaho. Others are from airshows in the area and from pre-arranged recording sessions which I was able to get up close with the microphone to the aircraft.
This diverse collection recorded over 10+ years includes close-up, medium and distant fly bys along with a engine starts, shut downs and pre-flight hovering. The helicopters in this collection were recorded arriving and departing the airport along with performing routine FAA re-certification maneuvers.
As a special bonus, a few select UH-60A Blackhawk sounds are included. Check out “THE HAWK” Blackhawk sound effects Library which has been utilized in many well known TV shows and films for more.
The Huey HD Professional Sound Effects Library is a 24-bit/96kHz, multi-microphone collection of sounds from a 1964 Bell UH-1H helicopter that has been reconditioned and converted for civilian use. This one of a kind set of sound effects features multiple ground and flight tests recorded in a exceptionally quiet environment at the local airport. The Bell UH-1 or better known as HUEY is by far the toughest, most bad ass helicopter in the world.
The Hawk HD Professional Sound Effects Library is a multi-channel collection of sounds from a Sikorsky UH-60A helicopter that has been converted for civilian use. This one of a kind set of collection features multiple ground and flight “Track and Balance” operations recorded in a exceptionally quiet environment. Cockpit control systems (switches, levers, dials) and doors are also included. Recorded on six separate occasions.
The Hawk Extension HD Pro
This collection expands on the original HAWK library with all new exterior sounds recorded with high-end microphones including the Sennheiser MKH8040ST and a Schoeps MS set. Included are pass bys, flight test maneuvers, hovering, long approaches, landings and ground runs from a Sikorsky UH-60A Blackhawk Helicopter. The UH-60A is a four-bladed, twin-engine, medium-lift utility helicopter manufactured by Sikorsky Aircraft. UPDATED for 2024!
Helicopters 2 HD Pro
Helicopters 2 HD Pro continues the journey started with Helicopters 1 back in 2015. After 3 years of going to the local airport and recording various rotorcraft I present to you the next set of 140 sounds from a wide variety of helicopters.
Included are close, medium and distant passes along with turbine engine starts, shut downs and hovering (tons of “Blade Chop”). The helicopters were recorded arriving and departing the airport and performing photo shoot maneuvers. All the sounds in this collection are from a exterior perspective. Recorded in stunning XY and MS decoded stereo.
Highlights include: very fast passes, aggressive approaches, graceful hovering, extremely close up starts with ground runs and overhead departing. I poured my heart and soul into this collection and hope you enjoy them as much as I did recording them.
CH-47D Chinook HD Pro
Exterior sound effects from CH-47D Chinook helicopters during fire fighting duties and US Army units flying in the area from 2023 to 2025. Captured with high end microphones at 32-Bit Floating Point.
Captured with high end stereo microphones in 96kHz/32-Bit Floating Point and delivered at 24-Bit/96kHz the sounds have incredible detail and a wide dynamic range.
Recorded at a quiet airport with minimal ambient background noise I was able to record extremely distant approaches and pass bys out to 750 meters. Multiple angles were recorded from the front, side and rear to give you a diverse set of material to work with. The pass bys were recorded while the helicopter was flying over my property. At times it was very close overhead and others it was 2 to 4 miles away.
Bell 206 Helicopter HD Pro
The Bell 206 Helicopter Sound FX Collection contains exterior and interior stereo audio recordings of turbine starts, shut-downs, fast and slow pass bys, hovers and interior flight. Recorded close up, medium and distant for flexibility and variety.
Recorded at a small, quiet airport on a beautiful day in North Idaho. Some of the Broadcast WAV sound files are recorded with a Zoom F3 which was the first time I used this recorder for helicopters and was very impressed.
